About Me

Born and raised in metropolitan Detroit, Mary comes from a family that always supported the arts. In 2003 she took what she learned from high school sewing classes and moved to Chicago to attend the Illinois Institute of Art.

Always aspiring to become a Costume Designer, Mary pursued a degree in Fashion Design to better learn the classic skills of flat pattern making, draping, tailoring and line development.

During her time at AI-Chicago, Mary was fortunate to be accepted into the highly acclaimed Walt Disney World College Program where she worked feverish hours in the Costuming & Cosmetology Department.

Upon returning to AI-Chicago she began applying to theaters all over the West Coast and Pacific Northwest. She was immediately picked up by the NW Children’s Theater, in Portland, OR where she worked on many musicals, plays and new works with the esteemed company.

Mary is currently a second year Graduate student in the prestigious MFA program at the University of California - San Diego.

Mary is known for her unique style, bold designs and uncanny eye for colors, fabrics and textures. An experienced seamstress, she is known to not only design her shows, but build them as well.
